We are looking for an established Backend Java Developer with a passion for knowledge sharing and education about Java Development. You’ll be a specialist in java technology having worked in the space for at least 5 years. You’ll collaborate with our world-class product and design teams to discover where software is needed and what the best approaches to a problem might be. You’ll have the opportunity to work in many industries like finance, video games, healthcare, startups and environmental science.

Your new job

  • You can write high quality software autonomously.
  • Ideally you have about 5 years experience with Java software development
  • You’ll have a good foundation in system design, integration and API development at enterprise scale.
  • You have hands-on experience building applications for cloud infrastructure and containerisation. Our clients use many different cloud providers and experience in any provider would be great
  • Our clients use Kotlin & Java. Experience with both languages would be - beneficial but not required as long as you’re keen to learn.
  • You will have to work with both languages on projects, with a preference for Kotlin on new work.

  • You enjoy teaching more junior backend developers and have previously mentored junior developers
  • You understand the role design plays in successful products and enjoy collaborating with designers
  • You generally get the best outcomes when you collaborate with others
  • You have curiosity! You know the importance of “why?” and getting to the root cause of a problem
  • You care about quality and you understand the impact of quality on a software product
  • You have had good exposure to spring and spring boot plus automating builds, CI/CD, testing & scripting.
