Our main focus lies in using AWS to create standout digital solutions. We leverage AWS Serverless technology, including AWS Lambda and Amazon DynamoDB, to provide next-generation backend services and create efficient, low-cost solutions for potentially costly problems.
We help you determine how to break apart monolithic applications so that you can better take advantage of the AWS platform. Our experienced professionals can enable you to meet your application transformation goals and create serverless solutions utilising AWS Lambda.
We also leverage AWS to create next-generation IoT solutions that are functional, practical and secure. We handle every aspect of creating these solutions. This includes producing custom firmware, pairing it with the right hardware and AWS IoT products, and thoroughly testing the system as a whole to ensure flawless functionality.
Our Experience
Serverless
Roam Digital is proud to support the adoption of serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, through our work with clients and our community involvement.
We've enabled clients like Spark and Vodafone to achieve new milestones in their cloud journeys through innovative AWS projects. As part of our involvement in the Spark 5G Labs, we built a fast, cost-effective and scalable backend solution using AWS serverless technology and AWS IoT services. The solution involved calculating position tracking data using Lambda functions, and saving position history data periodically to Elastic search - with proximity event states saved to DynamoDB, which Alexa could query simultaneously.
In another recent example, we worked with Vodafone to rebuild a critical part of their Rewards web app. As part of this project, we used the AWS cloud, in particular AWS Lambda fronted by an Amazon API Gateway, and DynamoDB as the database on the backend.
We are also heavily involved in the serverless community. Our VP of Engineering, Andreas Mueller, is the organiser of Serverless Auckland, a community of over 1,600 members who meet regularly to explore the architectures and technologies that enable serverless computing. He is also the organiser of ServerlessDays Auckland and co-organiser of ServerlessDays ANZ.

Security
Roam Digital utilises strong best practice and best of breed security tooling and practices from AWS in order to deliver secure solutions for our clients. We utilise AWS WAF for all of our client engagements, with tailored rule sets based on risk profile, threat model and criticality of solution. By reducing the amount of common attacks such as XSS, SQL injection attacks and blocking IP's based on reputation lists we can ensure that all solutions deployed are safe, secure and reliable.
